Vail Dance Festival

2018 VAIL DANCE FESTIVAL CELEBRATING 30 YEARS

JULY 28 - AUGUST 11

The Vail Valley is known for its world-class mountains and year-round outdoor activities, but our community also places arts and cultural events high on our list of “must-haves.” The Vail Valley Foundation plays an integral role in this endeavor and they say, “In the arts, we ensure that the broadest spectrum of the performing arts has a place in our community.”

The Vail Dance Festival was established in 1989 and is celebrating its 30th year in the Valley! Featuring both performances and educational elements, this event firmly established the Vail Valley as one of the top summer dance destinations in the world.

This year the American Ballet Theatre makes its official debut at the festival in a program showcasing choreographers who have helped shape the company’s identity over the years.

The Vail Valley: A Golfer's Paradise

Red Sky Golf Club | Vail Resorts

Red Sky Golf Club | Vail Resorts

The Vail Valley is obviously known for being one of the most incredible ski resort destinations in the World, but summer is quickly becoming just as popular. With activities such as hiking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, fishing and golf, the recreation is truly endless.

Speaking of golf, did you know that there are 17 championship golf courses within a 38-mile radius, and half of them are open to the public! One thing I love about our courses is they are all so unique and offer their own beauty and challenges, keeping you on your toes. The region's golf courses were designed by some of the game's biggest names, like Pete Dye, Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman, and Tom Fazio.

If you are just dipping your toe in the proverbial golf pool there are tons of more casual/social events to break in to the golf scene like Buckets and Brews. Every Thursday night from 5-7PM at the EagleVail Golf Club you can pay $10 for a bucket of balls and 2 draft beers! Plus there are weekly beer and prize sponsors to keep it exciting. CLICK HERE for more details.

I had the pleasure of playing at Frost Creek yesterday and it was honestly one of the most picturesque rounds I have ever played. The mountains and valleys are breathtaking - it looks like Jurassic Park out there!

PINK VAIL

THE WORLD'S BIGGEST SKI DAY TO CONQUER CANCER

Saturday, March 24 at Golden Peak in Vail, CO

Pink Vail is one of Vail’s most anticipated events of the season and the only one of its kind. Similar to a run or walk to support cancer, Pink Vail participants register here and ask their friends and family to make a donation on their behalf. Pink Vail is a fundraiser that brings nearly 3,000 people, dressed in pink, together on Vail Mountain for an all-day event with live music, deck parties, costume contest and more. Participants range in age from 1 to 85 years old, and many of them don’t even ski on the day of the event.

Pink Vail proceeds benefit all patients at Shaw Cancer Center through enhancements to patient care and by funding our Spirit of Survival program, providing all patients the opportunity to receive free exercise training, nutrition coaching, emotional support, massages, acupuncture, outdoor adventures and much more. These unique services can dramatically impact a patient’s quality of life, but are not typically covered by insurance.
